my condolences on the loss of a family member. the clymer manual for 86-88 will be fine (most everyone here uses that version). i would suggest draining the tank & carb of whatever was sitting in there (if you've not already done this) and tank up with about a gallon of fresh gas. check your carb vacuum line (smaller hose from petcock to right side of carb) for cracks, etc. set carb back to prime (to fill the bowl) then back to fuel (for vacuum) and try again. if this does not work then you might want to check and clean your spark plug.

if you're actually seeing fuel leakage then you'll need to track that down early (could be a petcock, carb, or fuel line problem). bottom line, first thing to square away is fuel delivery (with fresh gas). good luck (lot's of folks here that can help). t..
